Enablers beefing up operational dashboard view with point-of-sale and RFID data from VeriSign Intelligent Supply Chain Services Platform

Westborough, MA — May 5, 2006 — B2B connectivity and data specialist RedTail Solutions is expanding the retail data available to customers using its Supply Chain Visibility Portal by utilizing data from the VeriSign Intelligent Supply Chain Services platform.

RedTail is an outsourced provider of electronic trading solutions for electronic data interchange (EDI) and data synchronization. The company's Supply Chain Visibility Portal is currently in pilot.

As a part of the current agreement, RedTail will offer customers the ability to access data from VeriSign into a dashboard view that will provide them with information about the order and fulfillment lifecycle of products moving through the supply chain.

Additionally, RedTail plans to use existing VeriSign services to develop new offerings that utilize currently available EDI and global data synchronization (GDS) data with point-of-sale (POS) data and radio frequency identification (RFID) product movement data to deliver end-to-end visibility of products within the supply chain.

"Product information captured by RFID needs to be viewed in context of the entire order lifecycle and the underlying business processes between suppliers and buyers," said David Unger, chief technology officer at RedTail Solutions. "Timely and accurate data from the VeriSign platform will allow the RedTail Supply Chain Visibility Portal to do just that."

VeriSign Intelligent Supply Chain Services provide infrastructure services for critical supply chain data, including POS and RFID, to support the collaboration of global supply chain participants and enable the solutions of their vendors.

"Companies in the retail industry are increasingly looking to collapse multiple types of data into a single view of supply and demand," said Jeff Richards, vice president of intelligent supply chain services at VeriSign. "Our alliance with RedTail Solutions is representative of our ongoing efforts with leading application providers to help enable a comprehensive, actionable, global demand signal to supply chain participants."
