On-demand solution from Management Dynamics aims to optimize pricing and delivery of customized rate quotes and proposals

East Rutherford, NJ — June 2, 2006 — Global trade management specialist Management Dynamics has released a new on-demand proposal generation tool for logistics providers designed to streamline the process of responding to request for proposal (RFPs) and preparing complex rate quotes

A module of Management Dynamics' price management solution, the new Proposal Builder was designed to make it easier for customer-facing teams to analyze customer requirements, build multiple routing and service scenarios, prepare pricing for each alternative, generate and deliver a customized proposal, and analyze win/loss trends over time, according to the solution provider.

Proposal Builder is intended to enable users to better manage and control critical freight rate information, improve quoting accuracy, reduce overhead costs and respond faster to new customer opportunities. The module, available as an on-demand solution delivered over the Internet, is targeted at logistics service providers looking to improve the productivity of their sales teams.

Meeting the Proposal Management Challenge

Functionality within Proposal Building includes a management tool that enables users to monitor and track various aspects of the proposal process including response times, margin analysis and win/loss trends; a single, secure database that centralizes information for access to and management of requests for quotation (RFQ) activities; and batch calculations of routes and rates to identify the best combination of cost and service available, eliminating manual calculations.

In addition, the module offers real-time editing of buy-side and sell-side rate information to ensure quotes are both accurate and timely; customized dashboards that provide ready access to RFQ line item details, giving enhanced visibility to current status and helping to improve response coordination; and reporting capabilities to enable users to identify RFQ trends and profitability.

"Proposal management is a complex and challenging business process, and today's logistics service providers need tools that will help them differentiate in a competitive market while reducing errors, lowering administrative costs and speeding response time," said John Preuninger, president of Management Dynamics. "Proposal Builder delivers on all these points with a powerful, on-demand solution that automates the complete proposal management process."
