World's largest specialist trade distributor of plumbing and heating products taps solutions for logistics planning and execution
Waterloo, Ontario — June 7, 2006 — Plumbing products distributor Wolseley Limited has selected a solution from transportation management specialist The Descartes Systems Group for logistics planning and execution for its U.K. operations, the solution provider has announced.
Wolseley is the world's largest specialist trade distributor of plumbing and heating products and a leading supplier of building materials to professional contractors in North America, the United Kingdom and Continental Europe.
After a pilot and evaluation study, Wolseley has selected Descartes' transportation and delivery management solutions for customer delivery reservation, delivery route planning and vehicle dispatch within the United Kingdom. Descartes said its solutions are designed to help reduce operational costs and improve customer service for organizations like Wolseley, for whom timely delivery is a key service component.
