San Mateo, CA, and Chicago IL — August 15, 2006 — Emerson EGS, a global industrial electric products leader, said it has selected the BigMachines Lean Front-End (LFE) platform to streamline its product configuration processes.

EGS, a joint venture between Emerson Electric and SPX Corp., is a global manufacturer of industrial electrical products for explosion proof, hazardous and ordinary location environments with some of the most well-known brands in the industry. Their solutions provide electrical distributors and end-users expert knowledge and excellent service.

"We needed a more powerful and flexible tool to replace our current configurator," said Cathy Ash, director of IT at EGS. "BigMachines will greatly streamline our communication and ordering process with our distributors, in addition to saving time for our internal product experts. We can't wait to deploy the BigMachines LFE solution."

BigMachines LFE will be tightly integrated with EGS's BPICS enterprise resource planning (ERP) system. This will enable EGS internal quote and engineering experts to accurately configure product bills-of-material (BOMs) for complex orders. Distributors will also use the integrated system to directly generate and submit BOMs to the EGS team.

Godard Abel, CEO of BigMachines, stated, "We are delighted that EGS has selected BigMachines. We look forward to a rapid implementation with our new version 7.0 product release. Our goal is to continue to make our product easy to implement and easy to maintain — to return a rapid ROI for our customers."
