Alliance designed for make, move and maintain businesses to report on key performance indicators

Schaumburg, IL — January 10, 2005 — Intentia International AB, a global enterprise solutions provider for the manufacturing, distribution and maintenance industries, and Cognos, a business intelligence (BI) and corporate performance management (CPM) provider, today announce an expansion of their product offerings designed to help customers plan, monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) in Intentia's enterprise performance management applications.

As part of the alliance, Intentia said it will extend its enterprise performance management (EPM) solution with Cognos products on an open J2EE architecture optimized for IBM WebSphere and hardware running on Linux and Windows servers. The companies will also expand their joint sales, marketing and development activities.

Intentia's data warehousing platform consolidates business information from all of Intentia's applications into preloaded business measurement models that are compatible with a broad range of end-user tools. Cognos ReportNet will now visually display Intentia's data warehousing information, Cognos Metrics Manager will monitor KPIs based on an organization's Scorecard, and Cognos Enterprise Planning will enable implementation planning and targeting.

"The Cognos offering is a perfect fit for our EPM line," said Henrik Billgren, president of Intentia Research & Development. Cognos ReportNet is based on the same architecture as Intentia's Java solution and is therefore easily integrated."

Intentia's CEO, Bertrand Sciard, concluded, "This is an important step in the product strategy communicated by Intentia. It will give our enterprise performance management customers new and improved ways to add value to their businesses by using the latest tools from a supplier of business intelligence solutions."
