Less-than-truckload specialist taps PurchasingNet e-payables software manage PO- and non-PO-related spend activity

Red Bank, NJ — March 24, 2005 — Less-than-truckload specialist Overnite Corporation has selected a solution from PurchasingNet in a move to improve the efficiency of its procure-to-pay process.

Richmond, Va.-based Overnite is top U.S.-based less-than-truckload (LTL) transportation companies, operating throughout North America with more than 200 service centers.

The company will use PurchasingNet's PNet solution, an integrated e-procurement and e-payables suite of modules, to manage both purchase order (PO)- and non-PO-related spend activity for the company.

In addition, Overnite will take advantage of PNet's electronic invoice processing to further streamline its accounts payable operation. PNet will be interfaced with GEAC's Accounts Payable module.

"We believe the addition of PNet will create a foundation for enhancing the procurement/payables operations at corporate headquarters as well as across the company's service center locations," said Kevin Thompson, purchasing manager for Overnite. "PurchasingNet was selected based on the company's longevity in the e-procurement marketplace and the overall breadth of functionality that their products offer."

Founded in 1983, PurchasingNet has more than 1,400 customers in financial services, retail/consumer products, professional services, media/publishing and a variety of other industries. Its customers include Countrywide Financial, HBO, EarthLink, Black & Decker, Kroger and General Mills.
