Logistics Institute debuts Web-based management series

Atlanta — April 12, 2005 — The Logistics Institute at Georgia Tech is debuting a series of online courses focused on logistics management, offering supply chain practitioners and managers the option of taking Web-based courses with one of the country's top logistics experts.

The Logistics Management Series (LMS) of online courses, developed by Dr. Edward H. Frazelle, provides logistics professionals with the same materials presented in Frazelle's live versions of the course. What's the difference? Logistics professionals and managers have the flexibility of covering the material at their own time and pace.

The LMS online courses include streaming video presentations synchronized with PowerPoint slides for each course module, with 18-plus hours of video presentations shot in the live classroom setting. The online courses also feature course notes, video clips demonstrating the operation of important logistics systems, and photo galleries highlighting the operation of logistics systems.

Participants in TLI and Dr. Frazelle's courses have included logistics professionals and managers from such companies as AMGEN, Lego America, Cargill and NASA, among others.

LMS offers a curriculum of online professional education programs covering key topics in logistics, supply chain management, inventory management, transportation and distribution, and warehousing and material handling.
