Cupertino, CA — May 31, 2005 — DIRECTV Inc., in a bid to optimize its business performance through good governance, said today that it is teaming with Certus Software Inc.to implement and deploy an international sustainable compliance program.

DIRECTV is the largest U.S. direct broadcast satellite (DBS) provider, serving more than 14.4 million customers. DIRECTV Latin America serves more than 1.5 million customers throughout Latin America.

Certus' enterprise-level software platform, the Certus Governance Suite, offers compliance, audit servicing and enterprise risk management. For Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, the Certus suite provides toolkits, including control frameworks (COSO) and Sarbanes-Oxley templates from the "Big Four" accounting firms. Certus said its platform is designed to help enterprises achieve compliance beyond Sarbanes-Oxley, supporting complex business topographies and country-specific financial control regulations.
