Ottawa, ON — June 13, 2005 — Canadian business communication solutions provider Allstream is using technology from e-business software specialist Cactus Commerce to provide Hospital Logistics Inc. with a radio frequency identification (RFID) supply chain management solution, Cactus announced today.

Allstream, a strategic partner of Cactus, announced last week an agreement with Hospital Logistics Inc., a company that provides third-party logistics services, including hospital supplies to hospitals across the Greater Toronto Area. This announcement marked the first phase rollout of Allstream's portfolio of RFID solutions.

Cactus specializes in solutions for global data synchronization and trading partner integration.

"We are very excited to partner with Cactus Commerce in developing this RFID solution," said Ron McKenzie, executive vice president for marketing and business development at Allstream. "This strategic partnership demonstrates the expansion of Allstream's offering to include RFID solutions that improve customers' inventory and supply chain management processes."

"As the first phase of our partnership, Cactus Commerce is pleased to work with Allstream to provide the EPC-IS component of their radio frequency identification solution," said Pierre Deschamps, executive vice president for Cactus Commerce.

"As RFID momentum accelerates, we continue to evolve our existing products to meet the changing needs of our customers," Deschamps continued. "Our solutions, including Cactus GDS Accelerator for BizTalk and the Cactus Trade Server Solution for RFID, ensure data accuracy and reduce costs for trading partners, providing the software foundation for successful RFID deployments."
