Indiana-based 3PL looks to optimize, improve logistics operations at new facility

Grand Rapids, MI — July 12, 2005 — Third party logistics (3PL) provider Sataria Distribution and Packaging is set to use solutions from Provia Software to optimize its supply chain and improve logistics operations at a new facility.

Based in Plainfield, Ind., Sataria offers warehouse and distribution services. The company selected Provia's ViaWare Warehouse Management Solution (WMS),Yard Management Solution (YMS) and Labor Management Solution (LMS), as well as its ViaView Visibility, Alert Management and Performance Analysis software.

Sataria will use the Provia solutions to consolidate the operations of five of its warehouses into a new 600,000 square-foot facility slated for occupancy beginning this summer. The company also has plans to implement Provia's ViaWare RFID Tag @ Ship module in the future as well.

Sataria conducted an exhaustive search for a logistics provider and selected Provia based on the company's implementations and shared corporate culture. "Out of all the WMS vendors we looked at, Provia Software offered the strongest combination of product functionality, implementation capability and experience, and dedication to customer support to match our requirements," said John Jacobs, president of Sataria.

"Adding yet another growing company to the Provia customer list further validates the value that Provia brings to companies looking to optimize their supply chains," said Paul Crist, Provia's vice president of global sales and marketing.

Other customers using Provia's solutions include such companies as Menlo Worldwide, Spencer Gifts, Gillette, TaylorMade-adidas Golf and Lanier Worldwide.
