Automotive components manufacturer taps QAD as foundation for global supply chain operations

Carpinteria, CA — July 12, 2005 — Remy International Inc. (formerly Delco-Remy), a leading automotive supplier, is ready to install QAD Inc.'s MFG/PRO software and related modules for its original equipment manufacturing (OEM) group.

The two companies plan to work together to implement an advanced supply chain solution built on QAD MFG/PRO, QAD Supply Visualization with kanban replenishment and QAD EDI ECommerce.

By standardizing the OEM group's enterprise and supply chain functions on the QAD platform, Remy International hopes to gain additional strategic perspective to better anticipate and respond to shifts in component and product demands.

With $1 billion in total sales last year, Remy International is North America's largest supplier of original equipment starters for automobiles and light trucks, and serves more than 3,500 customers worldwide. The company recently received its third General Motors Supplier of the Year award for providing GM with world-class parts and services. Remy International's OEM division currently distributes customer orders among multiple plants for fulfillment.

The QAD solution will allow Remy International to centralize certain business processes that every plant shares in common, with the flexibility to support multiple languages and currencies, as well as local business practices and production models best suited to specific locations.

"By standardizing supply chain reporting, automotive suppliers can streamline enterprise function to pave the way for world-class supply chain interaction and crucial regulatory compliance," said Pamela Lopker, QAD president and chairman of the board.
