Philadelphia — August 25, 2005 — Service supply chain specialist MCA Solutions is partnering with SeeControl, a provider of B2B inventory and asset visibility control solutions, to bring best-of-breed strategy and execution to the service supply chain.

As product lifecycles continue to shrink and the windows for maximizing revenue opportunities grow smaller, manufacturers are increasingly viewing the aftermarket as the new frontier for profit. The alliance between MCA Solutions and SeeControl, announced this week, is intended to give automotive, semiconductor, high tech and capital equipment companies new ability to turn customer service and support operations into a strategic business driver.

The two enablers said that by combining MCA Solutions' offering for optimizing service parts planning with SeeControl's real-time visibility into field inventory levels, manufacturers can ensure that the right parts are in the right place at the right time to meet their customers' needs, without incurring the risk of holding excess inventory.

In addition, the combined solution can leverage emerging radio frequency identification (RFID) technology to better control and plan service parts across the extended supply chain, the two companies said.

MCA said companies using its Service Planning and Optimization (SPO) have been able to reduce inventory levels by 20 to 50 percent, while increasing service performance. Service operations improvements offer short-term benefits of service level compliance and a long-term foundation for repeat sales, MCA said.

SeeControl's solution creates and taps real-time item-level data to track inventory usage and returns information at unmanned locations, helping to reduce storage and expediting fees. The company said its Fortune 500 customers generally experience a 50 percent reduction in operational costs after implementing SeeControl's platform and increase service revenues through higher parts availability.

"Combining MCA's breakthrough parts planning with our platform provides companies the opportunity to create a truly demand and data-driven service supply chain" said Garrett Gafke, president and CEO of SeeControl. "This joint solution is already in use within some of the world's top service supply chains, allowing manufacturers to offer same-day service parts to a broader customer base at minimal cost while increasing their revenues."
