Logistics company looks to beef up supply chain offering with transportation management technology
Rancho Dominguez, CA — October 4, 2005 — UTi Worldwide, a non-asset based global integrated logistics company, has acquired Concentrek, a provider of transportation management and supply chain solutions, UTi has announced.
The privately held Concentrek was acquired from its principal shareholders, including its senior management team and Knight Transportation. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Founded in 1999, Concentrek offers a range of logistics services, including supply chain analysis and design, outsourced transportation management and advanced optimization technology for more efficient routing of shipments. The company provides outsourced solutions for some of the largest manufacturers and distributors in North America.
Concentrek employs approximately 80 associates at its headquarters in Grand Rapids, Mich., and at customer sites throughout the United States and Canada.

Patterson co-founded Concentrek with two other industry executives, Mike McClelland, who heads the company's operations, and Greg Morello, who is responsible for business development. All three of whom will continue to lead the company.
