Agency to deploy HandySoft solution for new correspondence tracking system; looks to improve management of external requests

Vienna, VA — October 7, 2005 — The U.S. government's Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has selected a business process management (BPM) platform from HandySoft Global Corp. to manage its executive office's correspondence tracking processes and improve its management of external requests.

The new Electronic Document and Action Tracking System (EDATS), to be implemented by Exceptional Software Strategies using HandySoft's BizFlow solution, is being deployed to help the NRC track accountability, improve operational efficiencies, meet regulatory requirements and reduce systems redundancies through a structured, automated process management system.

"We selected HandySoft to assist our agency in developing an IT solution to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of our correspondence and task tracking processes," said Bill Dean, assistant for operations in the Office of the Executive Director at the NRC. "The support we have received has been outstanding during the product development phase, and we have great expectations that BizFlow will meet or exceed all of our requirements."

The primary objective of the EDATS solution is to improve user productivity by providing a single, common, Web-based interface. This interface provides the ability for all users to see not only the status of any work item but also all information related to it. The solution will provide a set of integrated tools to improve productivity while managing the tracking of all correspondence, HandySoft said.

"Using BizFlow, government agencies can now define correspondence processes quickly and easily in a visual process modeling environment, drawing necessary data from all legacy systems," said Brian Boxman, vice president of worldwide sales and marketing for HandySoft Global. "The visual process design environment expedites initial deployment and reduces the cost of adaptation, making BizFlow the best value for government organizations with sophisticated organizational structures, regulatory requirements, and unique policies and procedures."

HandySoft said that BizFlow's properties editors enables government agencies to set the system to issue e-mails, alerts and priority escalations, and run external applications before and after deadlines are exceeded. BizFlow automates routine steps according to agency and regulatory requirements while providing visibility into the process to monitor the status of work at each moment.
