Taps SPS Commerce for enablement, hosted EDI services; streamlines operations with more than 200 suppliers

Minneapolis — October 31, 2005 — Leslie's Poolmart Inc., a specialty retailer of swimming pool supplies and related products, said it will modernize its supply chain using SPS Commerce's Community Enablement and hosted electronic data interchange (EDI) services. By this fall, Leslie's Poolmart will have implemented SPS' hosted service as its exclusive EDI system.

Next, to ensure wide adoption of its automated order management process, SPS' Community Enablement campaign will target to enable the retailer's vendors. The enablement program includes the opportunity for more than 200 Leslie's Poolmart suppliers to use SPS Commerce's EDI Testing Service or one of its hosted transaction services to meet the retailer's electronic order management requirements for purchase orders, invoices, advance ship notices (ASNs) and UCC bar code labels.

"Over the past years, Leslie's has outgrown its paper-based ordering systems and needed the efficiencies that come with EDI," said Mike Hatch, senior vice president, merchandising and marketing at Leslie's Swimming Pool Supplies. "We selected SPS Commerce to both perform all of our EDI operations and execute a campaign to electronically enable or certify more than 200 suppliers.

Hatch added that, as a hosted service, SPS Commerce can more quickly execute both initiatives while allowing Leslie's to remain focused on its business. With 10 percent of our suppliers already connected to other retailers via of SPS Commerce, we already have a great start," he commented.

"We are pleased to welcome Leslie's Poolmart and its suppliers to our community," said Archie Black, CEO of SPS Commerce. "With a growing business, Leslie's Poolmart will benefit from a more automated order management system. With SPS Commerce's EDI solution, Leslie's Poolmart and their vendors will experience more efficient processing, a reduction in errors and elimination of misplaced documents."
