Releases Crystal Version 10 products after acquisition of Crystal Decisions

San Jose, CA — January 8, 2004 — In a flurry of announcements from business intelligence solution provider Business Objects, the company today introduced itself to the marketplace as a new combined company, resulting from its acquisition of Crystal Decisions, which closed December 2003.

The company claimed that the newly combined company has business intelligence revenues more than 50 percent larger than its nearest competitors in BI license revenues (based on the most recently reported quarters). It also boasts nearly 4,000 employees in 80 countries around the world, and it has more than 24,000 customers worldwide.

As part of the global launch of the new Business Objects, the company announced the general availability of the Version 10 suite of Crystal products. The provider said Crystal Version 10 extends the abilities of the reporting solution. It is also providing customers with a product integration roadmap, which shows in detail how the Crystal and Business Objects product lines will come together over the next few years.

Bernard Liautaud, chairman and CEO of Business Objects, said, "We would like to welcome the new employees and customers to the Business Objects family and we look forward to partnering with them as we continue to build a great company that will help our customers achieve results in enterprise performance."
