Lawrence, MA — February 23, 2004 — Storage networking solutions provider CNT has selected a product lifecycle management (PLM) solution from Aras in a bid to achieve effective enterprise change management based on the Institute of Configuration Management's CMII principles.

For CNT, a recent merger combined with solid business growth has led to an increase in the volume and complexity of engineering change orders. The company turned to Aras for a solution to integrate the different enterprise change processes in a multi-site manufacturing environment.

The implementation of Aras' Innovator Suite will achieve cycle-time reduction by unifying and streamlining the product change process, the solution provider said. The benefits could also include improved quality and availability of product information throughout the company, supply chain and distributors.

"We operate in highly competitive, fast-moving markets and therefore require timely and effective management of product changes," indicated David Vitt, vice president of engineering at CNT. "Aras gives us a highly flexible solution that can be easily modified to unify our business processes and maintain our competitive advantage."

Following a search of PLM solutions, CNT selected Aras based on functionality, flexibility and the ability to deploy the solution incrementally and cost-effectively, the solution provider said. CNT anticipates the rollout of additional Aras modules in the future to address project management and quality systems compliance.

"Aras was the only PLM solution that fit both our functional requirements and need for incremental deployment," said Curt Carlson, configuration manager at CNT. "The other solutions that we looked at required us to change the way we do business. Aras adapts to the way we do business and helps us improve over time."

Aras said that Innovator provides customers with flexibility to modify applications without programming driving results.

"Aras' flexibility is ideally suited for time-sensitive business situations such as CNT's need to integrate business units following a merger," emphasized Rick Lucier, CEO of Aras Corporation. "Our solution flexibility drives our practical approach to incremental deployment, enabling customers like CNT to target critical business processes and implement fast to realize meaningful results."
