Bon Secours Richmond Health System implements Agility solution to reduce total cost of equipment ownership

Richmond, VA — April 21, 2004 — Bon Secours Richmond Health System said it is implementing a radio frequency identification (RFID)-enabled mobile asset management program from Agility Healthcare Solutions, which the provider said is designed to reduce Bon Secours' total cost of equipment ownership.

Agility is providing tracking and management services for mobile medical equipment for three Bon Secours Richmond hospitals under a five-year service fee arrangement. AgileTrac, Agility's mobile medical equipment management program, will be fully operational this spring, said Fran Dirksmeier, Agility CEO.

Bon Secours Richmond, which has a fourth hospital under construction that will feature AgileTrac, provides a variety of healthcare services and is one of Richmond 's largest employers.

Dirksmeier said Agility is working closely with Bon Secours to evaluate all business processes and operating costs associated with its significant investment in mobile equipment.

"We fully anticipate that AgileTrac will provide them with a return on investment within the first full year of operations," she said. "But that's just a start. We can track and manage other resources so that clients like Bon Secours can take full advantage of the RFID platform we've put into place."

Jerrold Maki, Bon Secours Richmond's chief administrative officer, said, "Agility has been able to quantify our total mobile equipment costs and streamline our equipment management processes. Not only are we expecting the Agility solution to reduce costs and improve staff productivity, but also to improve patient care and assist with our compassionate quality healthcare mission."

Agility is a subsidiary of mobile asset management company TrenStar Inc. that serves clients including Scottish Courage Breweries, Carlsberg UK, Kraft, Goodyear, Burberry and Prada Stores.
