Companies combine product lifecycle management solution with storage systems for faster time-to-market

Sunnyvale, CA, and Kfar Saba, Israel — April 22, 2004 — Network Appliance Inc., a provider of enterprise network storage solutions, and SmarTeam Corp. Ltd., a Dassault Systemes company, today announced a co-marketing agreement that includes coordinated marketing and development activities to certify and integrate SMARTEAM product lifecycle management (PLM) solutions with NetApp unified storage systems and the NearStore R200 appliance.

The companies said the combined NetApp and SMARTEAM solutions enable manufacturing customers to organize product data, manage bills of material, streamline methods and processes, engineer workflows, and collaborate securely with partners across multiple projects.

They also provide the high availability and scalability that the providers said is necessary to protect and support design data for large, geographically dispersed engineering environments. NetApp storage solutions give multi-protocol support to access data generated by UNIX and Windows environments using Snapshot capabilities for online disk-based backup.

"We are very pleased to offer our customers NetApp enterprise storage, backup and recovery capabilities that will enable our customers to implement solutions that streamline the workload of today's fast-paced product development teams," said Avinoam Nowogrodski, CEO, SmarTeam.
