Companies to continue partnership to develop Dell's supply chain efficiencies
San Diego — April 29, 2004 — i2 Technologies, Inc., a provider of closed-loop supply chain management solutions (SCM), and computer-giant Dell today announced they will continue to work together to develop supply chain efficiencies.
Through its agreement with i2, Dell said it would simplify some of the complexities associated with its new product offerings and further optimize its supply chain, as Dell will have access to i2's software product portfolio, ranging from demand fulfillment to strategic sourcing.
In addition, Dell joins the i2 Supply Chain Leaders Program, a strategic partnership program between i2 and the world's leading companies in the area of supply chain innovation and efficiency.
Dell has been an i2 customer since 1997 and has reported numerous benefits from its current implementation of SCM solutions, including the enhancement of planning and execution capabilities with complete visibility across the supply chain, the implementation of a common global process for real-time communication and planning with suppliers, increased factory utilization through the removal of stock rooms from its factories, and rapid materials movement throughout the supply chain.
