WorldWide Retail Exchange signs deal with A.T. Kearney Procurement Solutions to gain access to sourcing services

Chicago — May 28, 2004 — The WorldWide Retail Exchange (WWRE) has signed up A.T. Kearney Procurement Solutions to gain access to a supplier repository and provide its members access to Web-based strategic sourcing solutions.

The WWRE is an Internet-based B2B exchange intended to facilitate and simplify trading between retailers, suppliers, partners and distributors. The exchange currently includes 64 members from Africa, Asia, Europe, North America and South America with combined sales of approximately $900 billion.

The agreement with A.T. Kearney Procurement Solutions, the e-sourcing technologies and services unit of management consulting firm A.T. Kearney, gives the WWRE access to a supplier repository in the form of customized supplier search capabilities and also provides the exchange's members access to Supply Market Solutions, a Web-based resource for strategic sourcing content and methodologies.

According to A.T. Kearney , by giving the exchange's members access to knowledge repositories and sourcing/procurement templates for data gathering, these services will expand the WWRE WorldSOURCE suite, which contains negotiations/auctions and collaborative procurement offerings.

"The relationship with A.T. Kearney Procurement Solutions allows us to provide our members with valuable sourcing services that enhance the procurement process," said Sally Herbert, chief commercial officer at the WWRE.

"A.T. Kearney Procurement Solutions has created customized sourcing support services and business tools which can be tailored to our members' specific sourcing and procurement requirements," said Pete Plotas, director of strategic alliances at WWRE. "This relationship will benefit any WWRE member with a focus on sourcing."
