New solution to help dealers and distributors better manage relationships, maintain competitive edge

Chicago — June 9, 2004 — Carrier Corp., a world leader in air conditioning, heating, and refrigeration systems, said this week that it has implemented Click Commerce software to improve the management of its multi-channel data in North America.

Carrier said the new solution provides dealers and distributors access to real-time information through a self-service portal.

Carrier deployed Click Commerce software as its next-generation solution to accommodate the growing number of users accessing its HVAC Partners extranet. The HVAC Partners site supports Carrier distributors and dealers. The new site provides a single source for Carrier's marketing-, product- and service-related information across multiple enterprises, while simultaneously permitting profile driven access to selected business applications.

Carrier has collaborated with its partners and customers via the Internet since 1999. With the growing number of dealers and distributors using Carrier's existing in-house application, there was a need to upgrade the application to a new platform that would accommodate system growth, improve scalability and performance and reduce cycle time when launching new business processes and programs.

After assessing its options, Carrier said it turned to Click Commerce for their domain expertise in managing complex channels, as well as their out-of-the-box Web applications that support Carrier's customer segmentation strategies.

Now integrated with Carrier's existing content management implementation, Carrier said the Click Commerce solution has enabled business users to deploy content from multiple business units, product lines and brands to targeted and segmented members of the channel.

"The Click Commerce solution provides a solid platform, which enables Carrier to deliver superior Internet tools to help our partners and customers be more successful in the marketplace," said Chuck Balawajder, chief information officer of Carrier Corp.

"To maintain an edge as a global industry leader, it is essential that your partner-facing solutions keep pace with your strategy," said Michael Ferro, chairman and CEO of Click Commerce. "We are pleased that Carrier has chosen Click Commerce as the next-generation solution to evolve their partner initiatives."
