Atlanta — June 25, 2004 — Third-party logistics provider (3PL) Wallenius Wilhelmsen Lines (WWL) has selected a solution from supply chain software provider Viewlocity for its worldwide visibility and supply chain event management (SCEM) software needs.

Wallenius Wilhelmsen provides ocean transport, inland services and supply chain solutions around the globe, employing 3,000 people. In 2003 WWL moved more than 2 million vehicles by ship and more than 1.5 million vehicles by road for customers in the automotive and heavy equipment industries.

WWL will use the Viewlocity software to provide visibility and event management capabilities to its global automotive customers across finished vehicle distribution processes. Expected benefits include faster and more accurate distribution of vehicles, allowing WWL to capture market share, according to Viewlocity.

The latest agreement marks an expansion of the Viewlocity-WWL relationship and builds off a successful project in Australia. "The experience that Wallenius Wilhelmsen has gained working with Viewlocity and its products in Australia was a key consideration in our decision to make an additional investment in the Viewlocity solution," said Mark Hope, vice president at WWL.

Hope added that Viewlocity's SCEM solution provides the visibility into activities surrounding orders, shipments and inventory demanded by WWL's major automotive customers both within and outside of Europe.

"This is a great opportunity for Viewlocity to extend its partnership with Wallenius Wilhelmsen," said Peter Klein, vice president of Viewlocity Europe. "The successful Australian SCEM implementation has formed the basis for a strong relationship between the two companies."
