San Carlos, CA — July 15, 2004 — Electronics retailer RadioShack has renewed its license to a price optimization solution from DemandTec and opted to implemented the solution provider's promotion optimization solution throughout its chain.

Fort Worth, Texas-based RadioShack has nearly 7,000 outlets nationwide, and it is estimated that 94 percent of all Americans live or work within five minutes of a RadioShack store or dealer.

According to DemandTec, a provider of consumer demand management (CDM) software for retailers and consumer products firms, RadioShack is renewing its license for DemandTec Price several months early based on results to date.

"Utilizing DemandTec's software and science, we have the ability to understand our consumer demand and develop pricing and promotion strategies that result in both satisfied customers and enhanced profitability," said Don Carroll, senior vice president and chief marketing officer of RadioShack. "It took less than nine months to implement DemandTec Price across all of our company stores, and we expect continued benefits in 2004 from DemandTec Price and the implementation of DemandTec Promotion."

"For generations RadioShack has been a bridge between people and technology, so it's especially gratifying to see DemandTec software performing so well for over 5,000 stores nationwide," Fishback concluded.
