Alliance targets midsize suppliers to major retailers, offers path to meet mandates for product item data synchronization

Pottsville, PA July 16, 2004 EXTOL International, a provider of B2B integration application software for the midsize enterprise, is partnering with iSoft Corporation, a provider of business integration and enterprise connectivity software, to enable iSoft customers in retail, consumer packaged goods (CPG) and other vertical markets to meet the mandates from their customers for synchronization of product item data through UCCnet and the GLOBALregistry.

The new partners said that their alliance would provide a strategic advantage for companies needing to integrate front-end B2B systems with back-end applications, automate and integrate of business processes, or extract, transform and transport data to applications and partners.

iSoft Corporation and Extol will bring to the market the iSoft Commerce Suite and Extol Business Integrator for UCCnet Services applications, a joint solution that the partners said would be capable of integrating manufacturers, distributors and other supply-side organizations with the UCCnet services network.

"The strategic partnership is based on the round-trip integration capabilities of the Extol Business Integrator for UCCnet Services as well as the Extol track record for enabling rapid implementation and deployment with the limited IT staff typical of most midsize suppliers to the close-to-cost retailers such as The Home Depot, Wal-Mart Stores, Wegmans Food Markets and others," said Roy Hogsed, president and CEO of iSoft.

"The iSoft and Extol partnership not only enables enterprise hubs and their partners to communicate synchronized product information throughout the supply-chain in near real-time while ensuring unprecedented data integrity, security and reliability," added Hogsed, "it also provides a complete integration broker solution for companies needing to improve their business effectiveness."

"Extol enables clients to accommodate the growing succession of e-initiatives," said Dennis Bonagura, president of Extol. "Today that is UCCnet and EDI, but just over the horizon are RFID, CPFR and more. This strategic approach to tactical e-business objectives lets a company leverage the investment in UCCnet over future supply chain requirements."
