Iowa-based company selects Epicor solution to replace legacy system, improve product efficiencies

Irvine, CA — August 2, 2004 — Metal stampings company Dubuque Stamping & Manufacturing has licensed a manufacturing solution from Epicor to replace a legacy system and to improve efficiencies at the Iowa-based firm.

Dubuque has been providing metal stampings since 1948, and today its staff of more than 150 production specialists serves a variety of customers with requirements that range from basic initial sample inspection to statistical process control and failure-mode effects analysis process.

The company will be implementing Epicor's Vantage software, which the provider describes as an end-to-end manufacturing solution that addresses the front to back office core business needs of midsize make-to-order (MTO) and mixed-mode manufacturers.

Vantage will replace an existing legacy system for Dubuque, and the company will be looking to the new system to help it improve efficiency by streamlining the order cycle to maximize resources, minimize costs and improve profitability.

Dubuque plans to also leverage Vantage's integrated electronic date interchange (EDI) capabilities, which will enable the company to eliminate paperwork by facilitating electronic exchange of orders and change orders, advance shipping notices and invoices.

Epicor said that Vantage is used by more than 1,500 companies worldwide and that the solution is delivered "out of the box" with built-in workflows that enable manufacturers to manage the entire order cycle: from marketing and sales through production and planning, sourcing and procurement, installation and service, and finally financial recognition.

"Vantage enables the whole process to be real-time and paperless," the solution provider said in a statement. "Because the entire Vantage solution streamlines the order cycle, an enterprise can maximize its resources, minimize its costs and improve profitability."
