Berkshire, UK — August 3, 2004 — Consumer electronics retailer Dixons Group has tapped an order management system from Yantra in a bid to boost fulfillment efficiency at a central distribution facility as part of an initiative to improve fulfillment processes for customer home delivery and store replenishment orders.

Dixons, the United Kingdom's largest consumer electronics retailer, operates more than 1,350 stores across the U.K., Ireland, the Nordic countries and Continental Europe.

The company will use Yantra's Retail Customer Order Management solution at its distribution facility in Newark, Nottinghamshire. In addition to improving deliver and replenishment, the company is looking to boost customer service and the operational efficiency of the Newark operation.

Opened in mid 2003, the Newark Hub services more than 1,000 Dixons Group stores in the U.K. and Ireland. The facility has 715,000 square feet of operational space storing over 130,000 units of stock across 2,000 product lines.

"More efficient fulfillment operations in our central facility equals a streamlined and improved shopping experience for our customers, whether they shop online or in one of our retail outlets," said Martin Fletcher, distribution development director at Dixons Group.

Fletcher noted that the Newark facility manages bulk replenishment orders for the company's stores and individual orders for customer home delivery. "These orders have very different characteristics," he said, adding, "Yantra's solution enables us to achieve significant efficiencies in our order fulfillment."

Using the Retail Customer Order Management solution, Dixons will be able to automate and execute best practices for fulfillment using Yantra's business process management and workflow capabilities, according to the solution provider.

Dixons also will use Yantra Reverse Logistics to manage and track returned orders. Throughout the fulfillment and returns processes, Yantra's event management capabilities will identify and resolve any exceptions that arise, Yantra said.

Pledged David Stephenson, European managing director at Yantra, "Yantra will drive significant benefits for Dixons Group customers, improving their interaction with the retailer and making their shopping experience easier. Additionally, Yantra will enable the retailer to operate more efficiently and profitably."
