Johannesburg — August 17, 2004 — SYSPRO, a producer of enterprise software, has announced the addition of new modules, functional enhancements and ease-of-use features to SYSPRO Version 6.0, the company's flagship software offering, beefing up the provider's manufacturing, accounting, distribution and Web applications, among other upgrades.

The new additions are designed to help companies achieve greater efficiencies by facilitating inventory and order tracking, increase controls and security, provide more value-added services, extend their enterprises and reap the rewards of integrated supply chains, SYSPRO said.

According to Phil Duff, SYSPRO CEO, "These latest features epitomize the SYSPRO design philosophy that promotes tight-integration, interoperability and collaboration across the extended enterprise, empowering SYSPRO customers with the highest-levels of process and transaction execution."

The new Forecasting module consists of a forecasting management tool that lays the cornerstone for the upcoming SYSPRO Inventory Optimization Solution. The Forecasting module uses available history to forecast future sales. Predefined algorithms or a competition method can be selected, with the system using the mathematical formula best suited to an item's historical sales. Dynamic analyses, approval workflow and tabular and graphical reports enable analysis and reference, as well as the ability to streamline and optimize inventory forecasting, SYSPRO said.

A new SYSPRO Electronic Funds Module (EFT) interfaces with SYSPRO Accounts Payable and Cash Book modules to facilitate the processing of electronic payments. The EFT system is designed to meet the requirements of banks in any country with minimal user intervention, according to the solution provider.

New functionalities added to SYSPRO Financials include an optional, structured general ledger for easier navigation, relationship defining, better analysis of information and increased security, SYSPRO said. Extended commitment accounting functionality and enhancements to the requisitioning and purchasing systems are intended to provide SYSPRO users with greater insights into a company's financial health.

SYSPRO said that it had completely revamped its Fixed Assets module to enable companies to better manage and control their asset investments. The system manages the tracking of assets and includes various valuation methods and security options.

The provider also revamped its online help functionality, which now utilizes HTML files that can be stored on a server for frequent updates. Links are provided to the SYSPRO Web site for updates. Manuals in Adobe's PDF format are available for viewing or printing.

SYSPRO also is introducing out-of-the-box Web-based applications. Users can now replace the Web application "desktop" with a customizable dashboard that provides a "portal-style" look-and-feel, along with tighter integration to SYSPRO 6.0, allowing customization of the menu within the core product itself, the provider said.

The release sees the introduction of new improvements to SYSPRO Manufacturing and Distribution functionality. SYSPRO said that enhancements such as ease-of-use, hyperlink navigation and customization capabilities have been implemented in critical queries such as Inventory, Sales Order and Projects and Contracts. Some of the new features include support for frames and dimensions in purchase orders, enhanced inter-warehouse transfer cost management, extended quality and inspection functionality, purchase order tracking notes and the ability to fully manage inspection on jobs.

The announced additions, which will be on general release to customers worldwide during September 2004, are intended to enable manufacturers and distributors to tighten controls, gain added insight into operations, improve customer service and better adhere to government regulations, the provider said.
