Apparel company re-ups with QRS for EDI translation to help meet retail customers' requirements

Richmond, CA — August 19, 2004 — Apparel company Crystal Hosiery has signed a contract renewal to continue to use QRS Managed EC for communication with its global trading partner network, helping the company to meet its retail customers' requirements.

Headquartered in Miami, Crystal Hosiery is an apparel manufacturer of all types of garments, which are distributed to major retailers throughout the United States and Europe.

QRS Managed EC is a retail service bureau providing electronic communication and business document exchange solutions. The service offers an EDI-to-fax/e-mail translation service that eliminates the need for hardware, software or additional staff. The service can also generate UCC128 shipping labels and GTIN and non-GTIN bar-coded price tickets.

At the Crystal Hosiery, QRS Managed EC converts Crystal Hosiery's purchase order, advanced ship notice and invoice information into the format required by each individual retailer and then transmits the information electronically according to each retailer's preferences.

Crystal Hosiery uses the QRS Managed EC File Transfer Service, which delivers electronic data interchange (EDI) documents over the Internet via the file transfer protocol (FTP). The File Transfer Service is well-suited for suppliers who need to integrate their translated EDI documents into their internal systems without maintaining an EDI infrastructure, according to QRS.

By using QRS Managed EC for EDI translation services, Crystal Hosiery is able to meet its retail customers' requirements. "Partnering with QRS has enabled Crystal Hosiery to communicate seamlessly with retailers of all sizes throughout the country," said Juan Diego Calle, operations director for the company.

A QRS customer for more than three years, Crystal Hosiery also uses QRS Catalogue for data synchronization with its trading partners.

"Companies like Crystal Hosiery that don't have a large IT infrastructure depend on QRS solutions to facilitate communication with trading partners and ensure product information accuracy with their retailer customers," said Ray Rike, QRS' senior vice president for worldwide sales and field operations.
