Miami — August 30, 2004 — Sock company Gold Toe Brands (GTB) has selected a quality solution from New Generation Computing (NGC) to monitor and maintain quality control of its global production of hosiery products.

GTB installed e-Quality at its Mebane, N.C., distribution center in March. The software complements existing NGC modules for sourcing and production (e-SPS) that GTB began using last year and provides the company with end-to-end visibility of its global supply chain, according to New Generation.

e-Quality uses the Internet to capture data and facilitates the early detection of problems that could affect the ability of a retailer or manufacturer to deliver top-quality products on schedule, according to NGC. e-Quality supports a variety of audits, including workmanship audits and packing accuracy checks, at the factory level while providing users at headquarters with inspection status reports, alerts of failed inspections and the ability to conduct defect and quality trend analyses.

"e-Quality will enable us to significantly improve our ability to deliver our customers top-quality products on time," said Val Zumbro, director of information systems for GTB. "The e-Quality module provides an easy-to-use, consistent method to record results of our quality audits of inbound sourced products and provides timely feed back to our worldwide suppliers. It is a great addition to the e-SPS modules previously installed that have made it possible for us to streamline many aspects of our sourcing of products."

Gold Toe Brands, founded in 1919, is a manufacturer of men's, women's and children's dress, casual and athletic socks that are sold at department stores nationwide. The company is a major supplier to department stores and national retailers.

New Generation Computing is a wholly-owned subsidiary of American Software and produces applications that let manufacturers, brand managers, retailers and importers manage the design, sourcing and production of finished products.
