Axcelis Technologies Improves Customer Service

Signs on to software upgrade from Glovia to improve planning and scheduling, provide greater Web access

El Segundo, CA — September 10, 2004 — Glovia International, a subsidiary of Fujitsu and a provider of extended enterprise resource planning (ERP) solutions for engineer-to-order and high volume manufacturers, announced today that Axcelis Technologies Inc. will migrate to the current version of glovia.com, glovia.com 7.

Axcelis said that with the Glovia solution it has already achieved visibility of company-wide operations and inventory, improved planning and scheduling, and enhanced Web access for employees, customers and suppliers.

Axcelis is a leading provider of solutions for semiconductor manufacturers. Axcelis has been a long time Glovia customer, starting back in 1993 when the company was part of Eaton Corp.

With close to 40 sales and service offices around the world, Axcelis said it is imperative to have worldwide visibility into critical company-wide operations and inventory to be able to coordinate resources and best meet customer demands.

glovia.com enables Axcelis to aggregate total demand and centrally plan for the production capacity and supplies required to satisfy that demand. Axcelis said it can now more effectively synchronize production and procurement activities with actual demand and in the process decrease inventory levels and improve customer service.

Looking ahead, Axcelis said it will be migrating to the current version of glovia.com to continue benefiting from the increased functionality of the extended ERP solution. The solution includes more than 60 individual enhancements to its core ERP functionality and integrates Glovia's existing e-business application extensions.
