Ascential's software selected to enhance total cost of ownership for PeopleSoft's lifecycle management tools
Westboro, MA — October 14, 2004 — Enterprise data integration provider Ascential Software Corp. has announced an expanded relationship with the software and services provider PeopleSoft Inc.
Under terms of a broadened original equipment manufacturer (OEM) license agreement, a limited use version of Ascential DataStage will be embedded into PeopleTools, the technology that powers all PeopleSoft Enterprise application upgrades.
Ascential said the embedded version of its DataStage should help streamline the data migration process involved in PeopleSoft Enterprise application upgrades.
Jesper Andersen, PeopleSoft group vice president and general manager, Tools & Technology, explained that PeopleTools is the technology that powers PeopleSoft Enterprise applications. "We selected Ascential DataStage as the migration tool for PeopleTools because it is the most complete data transformation solution available. Ascential DataStage should enable our customers to accelerate their upgrade process," he said.
The embedded limited-use version of Ascential DataStage is one component of the Ascential Enterprise Integration Suite, which profiles, cleanses and uses data from virtually any application or system. PeopleSoft customers have the option of purchasing the suite to extend the embedded limited-use license. Ascential Software said its integrated offering is designed to help companies improve operations, customer support and business transactions, as well as make better tactical and strategic decisions based on available information.
