Provider to release localized editions of forecasting solution for French, Spanish, German and Japanese

San Diego — October 15, 2004 — Demand forecasting specialist John Galt Solutions this week said that it would release localized versions of its ForecastX Wizard for Japanese, German, French and Spanish during first quarter of 2005.

The ForecastX Wizard is an Excel based tool used by small to midsize consumer packaged goods (CPG), retail, pharmaceutical and manufacturing companies to forecast sales, revenues and customer demand. Currently the solution is licensed in more than 30 different countries around the world.

"We were able to introduce our localized version of the ForecastX Wizard to our international clients during our recent user conference, and they loved its improved ease of use, along with the ability to forecast intermittent demand and distribution resource planning capability," said Kai Trepte, vice president of sales and service with John Galt.

The release of version 6.0 of the solution earlier this year introduced the capability to perform distribution requirements planning as well as demand forecasting, while retaining its forecasting accuracy and ease of use, according to John Galt.

The solution provider said that ForecastX Wizard is designed to leverage the capabilities of Excel. Upgraded features in version 6.0 include more powerful reports, with drag and drop analysis; replenishment and distribution requirements planning analysis to manage inventory; and intermittent demand forecasting models to set accurate stocking levels.

In addition, the latest version offers slice and dice analysis using Pivot tables, collaborative planning reports that highlight and track changes, and a foundation-level platform for developing sophisticated demand plans, John Galt said.

Founded in 1996, John Galt Solutions is a privately held company based in Chicago. Its customer base includes such companies as Fidelity Investments, Levis Canada, The Hoover Company and The Chinet Company.
