San Jose, CA — October 26, 2004 — Haworth Inc., a global designer and manufacturer of office furniture with $1.23 billion in 2003 sales, said it has deployed Business Objects as its business intelligence (BI) standard.

In an effort to consolidate data sources and improve information quality and operational performance, the company selected BusinessObjects' Data Integrator in addition to its existing implementation the market leading query, analysis and information management platform from Business Objects.

Haworth uses Data Integrator to extract information from Oracle applications and databases, and prepare data for reporting and distribution within the Business Objects infrastructure. Since implementing Data Integrator, Haworth said it has increased the accuracy of its data and reduced the time of the entire extract, transformation and load (ETL) process. The project also benefited Haworth's application development team because Data Integrator can be deployed quickly, without requiring additional hand coding.

"Before standardizing on Business Objects, we had a problem with inaccurate and conflicting data," said Kari Boelens, senior systems analyst at Haworth. "BusinessObjects Data Integrator has given managers confidence in the data quality being used for making decisions across the organization."

Boelens will discuss the company's implementation of Business Objects' solutions at the Business Objects 2004 International User Conference in Grapevine, Texas.
