Boeing selects software for its 'Enterprise One' maintenance management system
Ottawa, Ontario September 5, 2003 Mxi Technologies, a specialized provider of software for aviation maintenance management, announced today that it has entered into an agreement with The Boeing Co. to provide maintenance, engineering and logistics software modules for the Boeing Enterprise One comprehensive maintenance management system for airlines.
According to the provider, Enterprise One is a set of integrated software modules that provides an enterprise-wide maintenance and engineering tool specifically tailored to the air transport industry. It is designed for airlines to optimize such major support functions as maintenance planning and scheduling, engineering operations, logistics management, document management, and configuration control.
Under the terms of the agreement, Mxi Technologies is to supply several software modules that are designed specifically to support the work of airline maintenance and engineering staffs. Other modules will cover logistics functions, including spares procurement and inventory transactions.
Rich Higgins, vice president of Maintenance Engineering and Publications for Boeing Commercial Aviations Services, said, "The combination of Boeing's expertise and Mxi's software technology creates an opportunity to help airplane operators of any size enhance fleet utilization, decrease maintenance costs and increase employee productivity."
Boeing Enterprise One is a growing family of information technology products offered by Boeing Commercial Aviation Services, a unit of Boeing Commercial Airplanes.
