Designed for PeopleSoft users; offers deployment, ongoing protection of application firewall for HR solutions

Santa Clara, CA September 8, 2003 Web application security firewall and testing software provider Sanctum Inc. today announced the AppShield PeopleSoft Pack, which provides enterprise users of PeopleSoft Human Resources Management Solutions (HRMS) with security for their Web-based applications.

Sanctum claimed the software, featuring the company's application firewall, reduces deployment time for steadfast security and tight integration across PeopleSoft solutions. AppShield's Dynamic Policy Recognition Engine (DPRE) learns and enforces the intended business logic of applications in real-time, providing a secure environment for PeopleSoft's applications portfolio and ensuring compliance with external regulations and internal security best practices.

The AppShield PeopleSoft Pack, which includes an initial site audit ("health check"), AppShield appliance, implementation, training and annual maintenance, is designed to helps users mitigate the risk associated with the integration and customization of Internet-based applications.

Sanctum said the new offering allows users to extend their reach to customers, partners and employees while still maintaining the protection of sensitive data.

The provider added that the software is used by nine of the top 10 Fortune 500 for real-time management of human resources business processes.

Steve Orrin, chief technology officer of Sanctum, commented that the AppShield PeopleSoft Pack cuts deployment of security measures from the months that it normally takes to protect information and enforce compliance to just days. "While security and protection of an enterprise's core data are the top concern for anyone accessing personal information, the delayed deployment and time-consuming management of traditional security measures is simply not acceptable," he said.
