Phoenix, AZ September 10, 2003 Wegmans Food Markets Inc. of Rochester, N.Y., has expanded its relationship with food industry procurement provider Intesource.

Under the terms of the newly signed agreement, Wegmans will use the Intesource suite and services to assist in procuring a variety of goods and services.

Composed of six modules, the Intesource procurement suite, according to the provider, is a hosted, Web-based application designed to integrate with a corporation's existing infrastructure. The system uses the Web to enable companies to access the best market pricing for goods and services and pass those savings onto their customers.

Wegmans has been using the Intesource solution since 2002. Under the terms of the new agreement, the company will apply the solution more broadly across its organization.

"Early on, we committed to identifying innovative ways of doing business that would sustain the high quality Wegmans is known for while creating an environment where our team could lower costs", said Marianne Timmons, director of Business to Business, Wegmans. "Intesource has been an integral part of our efforts and we are very pleased to be extending our relationship with them."
