Aerospace and defense subcontractor signs deal with MAPICS, expands ERP across 1,000 users to manage growth

Atlanta November 17, 2004 The Electronics and Communications segment of Teledyne said this week that it is expanding its use of MAPICS Inc.'s enterprise resource planning (ERP) for iSeries as part of an initiative to standardize on a single enterprise software platform.

Headquartered in Los Angeles, Calif., Teledyne designs and manufactures electronic communication and propulsion products and provides advanced engineering services to a variety of customers around the world. The Electronics and Communications Segment has grown significantly through acquisition over the past few years.

The new three-site deal brings the segment's total number of MAPICS users to more than 1,000 across the nation and sets the stage to automate and unify the key business processes flowing through its manufacturing plants.

Having already invested in MAPICS ERP for iSeries to manage operations at several of its facilities, Teledyne said it views the expansion of its relationship with MAPICS as a natural next step, unifying the segment as it continues through this period of growth.
