Foodservice distributor selects Amphire to enable connectivity with entire supply base

Redwood Shores, CA September 16, 2003 Donsons Distributing, a foodservice distributor and member of UniPro, has tapped an Internet-based supply chain enablement solution from Amphire to deploy as part of an initiative to electronically enable transactions with its entire supplier base.

Founded in 1957, Donsons is locally owned and operated and has been headquartered in Denver since its inception. The company is set to deploy Amphire's Connect solution, and the company views the implementation as a way of avoiding the pitfalls of pursuing one-to-one connections with its many suppliers.

Amphire said that Connect allows distributors to trade electronically with all their large, mid-size and small suppliers. Distributors can send and confirm orders from their suppliers into their company's back office system transparently, as well as receive advanced ship notices and invoices for more rapid order-to-cash cycles, according to the solution provider.

"Partnering with Amphire enables us to trade efficiently with all of our suppliers and avoid the cost and time of enablement using traditional point-to-point electronic systems," said Bob Casagranda, director of finance at the company. "We are very excited about this relationship and look forward to trading electronically with all our supplier partners to eliminate unnecessary costs associated with paper based processes."
