CDM looks to streamline enterprise content management processes
Pleasanton, CA September 19, 2003 Documentum, a provider of enterprise content management (ECM) solutions, reported that CDM, a global consulting firm, has selected Documentum 5, the latest version of the Documentum ECM platform.
CDM has also selected Documentum Records Manager for a records archival and retention system that is certified against the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) for electronic record-keeping systems.
And the company has extended its use of eRoom, Documentum's enterprise collaboration solution. CDM will deploy the Documentum solution to create, manage, deliver and archive engineering details, specifications and project-related content, and enhance communication internally and with its clients.
Established in 1947, CDM provides a range of consulting, engineering, construction and operations services to public and private clients in the areas of drinking water, wastewater, water resources, transportation, solid and hazardous waste, and information management.
As an existing Documentum eRoom customer, the company was looking for a content management platform that would enable the capture and reuse of collaborative content, which could later be referenced during future projects and client engagements. CDM also needed a system that would simplify and streamline the delivery of many reports, environmental studies and tens of thousands of engineering drawings to its clients.
After evaluating requirements, CDM selected Documentum 5 due, in part, to the scalability of the platform, its security and its ease of integration with CDM's existing software infrastructure. CDM's success with eRoom also contributed to the company's decision to extend its use of Documentum products, according to the solution provider.
