Dallas — December 13, 2004 — Solution providers i2 Technologies and WebConcepts are partnering to offer vendor managed inventory (VMI) solution to manufacturers and retailers.

Shelf-Level eVMI from i2 and WebConcepts combines i2 Demand Manager's forecasting capabilities with WebConcepts' eVMI shelf-level planning and replenishment with the goal of bringing the value of VMI partnerships to a new level by enabling consumer goods manufacturers and retailers to focus their planning efforts where they should be, at the retail shelf.

This solution is intended to support a complete VMI program, from analysis, forecasting, and planning to replenishment, allocation and order execution, and the solution is designed to improve product availability where a consumer goes to find it, on the retail shelf.

"By partnering with WebConcepts we enhance our ability to deliver innovative solutions and new capabilities to our customer base," said Dan Brummer, vice president alliances at i2. "It is our goal to offer retailers and manufacturers the solutions and capabilities essential to performing in today's competitive marketplace."

The i2 and WebConcepts offering is designed to utilize planogram data, detailing product capacity at each individual store, to enable vendors to develop more accurate forecasts, marketing plans and inventory and replenishment strategies at the retail shelf level. Current, historic and future store plans can be stored so that replenishment and inventory plans can be created to reflect store shelf resets when seasonal changes or promotions occur in a store. Shelf-level replenishment parameters can be set for groupings of items, stores, fixtures and sales criteria.

"With this relationship we are placing ourselves in a better position to assist our customers in increasing their revenue and market share while improving consumer satisfaction by putting the right product in the right location, at the right time," said Ray Young, chairman of WebConcepts. "As retailer-specific requirements drive product proliferation and shorter and shorter product lifecycles necessitate maximizing what time you have on the shelf, companies will benefit from an intelligent demand planning system that creates and manages forecasts and replenishment down to the shelf level."
