Berwyn, PA October 23, 2003 IDS Scheer Inc., a provider of business process services and tools, today unveiled ARIS SmartPath, which is its new solution designed for small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

IDS Scheer said ARIS SmartPath offers SMEs (companies with $250 million or less in annual sales) the ability to optimize the benefits of the leading enterprise resource planning (ERP) solutions by taking a process-oriented approach to implementation. The end-to-end solution includes software, services and content.

"With ARIS SmartPath, we are integrating the knowledge base and solutions set from our acquisition of Plaut's North American operations and combining it with our experience in the SME market and our process and industry expertise," said Dr. Mathias Kirchmer, president and CEO, IDS Scheer Inc.

Kirchmer said he would be driving the SME effort for IDS Scheer with global responsibility for the mid-market business units and managing the roll out of ARIS SmartPath in the Americas. According to Kirchmer, the core of this solution is built on industry-specific process models that are designed to simplify the implementation of an ERP solution.

ARIS SmartPath is offered as a total package and can be customized to reflect customer-specific requirements. "ARIS SmartPath enables us to also use our global resources to accommodate these SMEs with international operations," Kirchmer added. More than 300 small and medium enterprises in 10 countries around the world have been relying on IDS Scheer's SME solutions.
