Whippany, NJ — December 5, 2003 — Parker Hannifin, a provider of motion and control technologies, has chosen to work with First Index to improve its sourcing strategy worldwide.

With annual sales exceeding $6 billion, Parker Hannifin is the world's top diversified manufacturer of motion and control technologies and systems. The company employs more than 46,000 people in 44 countries around the world.

Parker is expanding its relationship with First Index after a successful pilot program during which Parker integrated the First Index sourcing tool into its strategic sourcing process.

"We're building on our supply chain technology platform (PHconnect), which is driving improvements throughout our supply chain," said John Dedinsky, Parker's vice president of global procurement. "First Index will help us manage our supply base with complementary global sourcing to support and accelerate Parker's growth around the world."

Dedinsky said the First Index tool would help the company sustain and improve upon the gains it was achieving with its supply chain strategy.
