Signs up with Franke to replace legacy ERP systems, integrate disparate systems for Fleet Support Limited
Chicago — December 9, 2003 — IFS Applications, a component-based business applications provider for medium and large enterprises, this week announced it signed two new contracts that, combined, are worth over $20 million.
This first was with Swiss manufacturer Franke, which chose IFS Applications to replace more than 20 of its legacy enterprise resource planning ERP systems worldwide.
Franke is a market leader for kitchen systems, supplying products such as sinks, taps, hoods, hobs, waste disposal systems and appliances, and food service systems. Franke is also one of the major providers of coffee systems, and washroom and sanitary systems. IFS Applications will optimize global processes at Franke and will be rolled out in a phased, step-by-step implementation.
The second contract was signed with Fleet Support Limited (FSL), one of the United Kingdom's leading providers of Royal Navy and commercial ship repair services. IFS Applications will provide an integrated business solution for engineering, project delivery, maintenance, manufacturing, financials and human resources.
FSL said its objective is to replace a number of disparate systems with an integrated solution, covering all aspects of the business, which will enable FSL to meet its growth and performance objectives. The catalyst for the replacement of its current systems is a 10-year contract with the Ministry of Defense to provide the highest standards in ship repair services and accurate, up-to-the-minute information on performance to its customers.
With maritime industries being one of IFS' targeted market segments, IFS Applications said it enables shipyards to streamline their operations by replacing multiple standalone IT systems with a single integrated system. All major business processes are supported, including tendering, project establishment and planning, design, material management, PDM/engineering, project control, manufacturing, financials, subcontracting, document management, human resources and repair activities.
Customers within the maritime industry include Aker Kværner Yards, Babcock Engineering Services, Todd Pacific Shipyards, Kværner Oil & Gas, Dresser Rand, and the Royal Norwegian Navy.
