Supplier relationship management (SRM) touts new customers wins, expanded and extended relationships with existing clients

Kansas City, MO — February 13, 2004 — Supplier relationship management (SRM) specialist Perfect Commerce touted its fourth-quarter successes recently, pointing to the addition of a dozen new clients and expanded relationships with almost two dozen existing clients.

Hailing what it called a "record-breaking fourth quarter," the Kansas City-based company also said that it had renewed contracts with 26 of its current clients, in addition to the 12 new customers and expanded relationships with 23 customers it reported in the last quarter of 2003.

Perfect said that in 2003 the company had increased its client base to 120 Global 2000 clients and had seen total transactions grow 359 percent, resulting in $3.6 billion of transaction value, a 1080 percent increase.

The solution provider attributed the strong quarter came in part to adoption of the centerpiece of the Perfect solution suite, The Open Supplier Network (OSN), which it describes as the largest independent supplier network in the world.

"The OSN continues to expand rapidly," said Sandy Kemper, chairman and CEO of Perfect Commerce. "With 8,000 suppliers, 160,000 users and over 21 million [stock-keeping units (SKUs)] of content, companies continue to increase their use of the network to realize even greater efficiencies in their procurement process."

New clients added in Q4 included a prominent financial institution, two new customers in the insurance industry, two Fortune 500 agriculture-sector businesses, two Fortune 500 transportation services companies, two technology consulting firms, a financial services company, a workplace uniform supplier and a national consumer-brand bakery.

The 49 clients renewing or extending their relationship with Perfect Commerce cover a range of industries, covering the financial services, insurance, banking, pharmaceutical, entertainment, technology services, manufacturing, chemical, mining, energy, health care, baking/food production and automotive industries.

Among the companies extending their relationship with Perfect was Unisys, the information technology services and solutions company. Leveraging the e-sourcing capabilities of the Perfect Commerce Solutions Suite, Unisys Global Procurement has deployed Event Manager in the United States, Latin America, Asia Pacific and Europe.

"Unisys uses Perfect Commerce solutions for a variety of reverse auction and eRFx events for supplies and services ranging from IT hardware and software, professional and temporary services, to office and operational supplies," said Brad DeHart, Unisys strategic sourcing manager.

In addition to the implementation of Perfect solutions in the education arena and pharmaceutical industries, the solution provider also reported that Behr America, a subsidiary of the $3.2 billion international automobile systems partner Behr GmbH, has launched Perfect Commerce Procurement Manager. The Perfect program kicked off at the company's Dayton, Ohio, facility, with plans underway to expand to five additional U.S. locations by year end.
